If you are interested in uploading a current or prospective investment’s returns into [TEST], click on the Libraries tab on the left frame of [TEST].

At the top right of the screen you will find the button "Upload Returns."

You can “Upload” a file of returns in .csv, .pdf, or .xls format, or copy and “Paste” in the returns.

Once the data is entered, you will see a preview of the information and can click “ACCEPT & CONTINUE.”

The Uploader will then scan the info to identify if you’ve entered the data as a “Return” or “Price,” a “Percentage” or “Decimal,” and then suggest a currency. Click the drop down arrow if you wish to change any of these inputs to more accurately reflect the data you’re uploading.

In order for analysis on [TEST] to run, you will typically need at least three years of returns, depending on the frequency (read this article to learn more). The system will automatically recognize if you do not have sufficient returns history and highlight that missing period in gold. If your track record is not long enough, you have the ability to add in a proxy to backfill the returns.

To do so, click the “Add a proxy” button and then enter the benchmark you would like to use. Under Observations, the period where the proxy is being used will now be highlighted in blue.

Consistency checks are performed on uploaded data to assist in identifying and amending values that may be incorrect based on how far away the return is compared to the average. The user's discretion is required to update the values flagged as potentially incorrect by the system.

Once all errors are fixed and proxies are entered, if applicable, you can “ACCEPT & CONTINUE.”
